My name is Mart Smit, I was born in 1991 in Lutjewinkel. That's a very small village in the northern part of the Netherlands, I still live there.
I am a student at a secondary school.
My favourite hobby is nature photography but I like also doing all kind of sports and working on my website.
I’m a member of “Objectief†a Dutch Nature Photographers Union.
At a early age, I was already interested in nature. When I was about ten years old, I took all kind of pictures with my fathers equipment, but now I have my own.
In 2004 I won a price in the Argus Nature Photography competition in Belgium and that gave me the possibility to buy some excellent equipment.
The Canon EOS 20D and a Canon 100-400 5.6 L IS.
Most of my pictures are made in my neighbourhood, in our garden or around the farm of my grandparents.

Fantastic, Mart! I am awestruck by your photo, and I am equally impressed with your command of English at such a young age. You sound like a remarkable person, and I look forward to seeing more of your work.
