Yosemite Church

by Matt Bonnes

Taken later in the afternoon in early May of this year, the lighting on the church as well as Upper Yosemite Falls created this opportunity to pair the stunning beauty of the granite cliffs with the simple, but elegant, architecture of the church located in Yosemite valley.
Equipment: Nikon D80, 18-135mm Lens
Matt Bonnes
I have always been interested in photography, but only recently purchased an D-SLR (Nikon D80) about two years ago, and have been enjoying it ever since.

I also like the fact that the church is in warm colors whereas the rest of the scene is in cool tones.

I didn’t know there was a church there. Isn’t that a National Park? What is a church doing on Federal property?

31st May 2008 at 12:30 pm

Man, I have been here in May 2008 and I have photographed the Upper falls from this vantage point, but totally missed this church! I think I have to go back soon! :) Nice picture!

Love the angle of this picture, so the waterfall in the background is well-captured.
