Speckled Bush Cricket

by Jodie Randall

Peeping over the edge of a leaf in my garden, this speckled bush cricket was so incredibly well camouflaged that I had trouble locating him through my camera's viewfinder.
Equipment: Nikon D70 + Sigma 105mm macro lens

You must be ‘One Great Cricket Hunter’ to find this little guy. Nicely captured Jodie.

Nice focus.

That is very clear capture and the cricket almost posing on the edge. I really like the faded background and the crystal clear subject.

Nice macro shot, although all that green is a little bit too much for me.

For a macro you have very good depth of field, which is needed on this shot. The most important thing is to get the subject’s eyes in focus; well done.

Excellent “shot” of the tender cricket.

Jodi, it’s my personal opinion … your “journey” of becoming a “nature photographer” is quite evident.
