In the crush of men, I am drawn to the eyes.

  2. IonBuck Says:

Very nice composition of holy people and an interesting break from the usual sceneries. :)

  3. Malta Photography Malta Photography Says:

I like the DOF and the orange color that appears at instances. Very nice capture I must say. It evokes an effect of motion

  4. Anurag Anurag Says:

Splendid facial expressions. The bald head in the lower right corner is a distraction. An image depicting tremendous atmosphere. The ash covered face as the only high value subject, placed at the thirds is working very well.

  5. Pauline Jones Pauline Jones Says:

Nice composition, unusual subject and I agree that the bald head is a little distracting but it fits with the crowded atmosphere of the picture and helps to tell the story.

  6. Buffy Says:

    freaky!

  7. Age Age Says:

that is a really weird and kind of scary picture. what does ‘holy men’ mean?

  8. Marie Dunphy Harding Says:

There are many other bald men in the scene!
I find that more interesting than distracting.
I’m wondering the distinction between the bald men & those with hair !!

  9. Billy B Says:

I can’t imagine (pre-bath) what walking through that crowd smells like. Must be the reason for the orange flowers.

  10. yasmin yasmin Says:

yea, i agree with Anurag, the bald-headed man in the botton righ-hand corner is a bit of a distraction to the photo composition, but other than that, excellent shot and very equisite atmosphere!

  11. Renee Renee Says:

Very different indeed! Great shot in all!

  12. Paula Heelan Says:

I love shots like this. Right outside our daily experience - wish I had been there too. A photographers dream - being among that fabulous wash of people. Some handsome warriers too.

  13. a. Says:

What an amazing photo. I love the expressions of their faces and their hair! Very unique!

  14. Sparts Says:

Very interesting scene. I’d love to witness that for myself.

PS Perhaps you should have asked baldy to duck ;p

  15. ziggy Says:

I was so taken with the regality and almost un-earthy beauty of the row of men in the forefront that I didn’t see the bald head. Its a beautifully composed picture. The photographer works interlligently with the light and I wonder if it’s the power and majesty of the men’s faces that gives the sense of ‘weird’ness and and scariness in one comment.

  16. Tom Says:

    Scary.

  17. Gabriel Says:

Haunting beauty in this shot. Love the guy’s look on his face.

  18. Pieter -sAner- van der Horst Pieter -sAner- van der Horst Says:

Well taken I suppose, but this is not my cup of tea. Sorry.
