Hey Gale do you often find yourself in a Gale? Sorry, just had to…
What a gorgeous photo! Wish I was there. Amazing!
This is so amazing! I love a cloud with a silver lining. The reddish browns seem to just draw the sun light down for an intense fight with the gray. I like it a lot. Great Shot!!!!! EZ
Amazing shadows, fantastic composition!!! Exelent work!
I would call this Gale’s creation
and it is very nice. Likely HDR, but scenes like these is what HDR is best suitable for, beautiful resulting light and tones.
great capture of those rays!!…… lovely!!
Really breathtaking. beautiful and unusual colors. I guess you are using a split ND here. HDR would be difficult to manage in the face of strong winds where tripod is stabilised by hand.
A blow up of this would go straight on my living room wall.
Very nice shot. I feel there is a hand of some HDR. However it is a very nice shot and it has a very warming effect.
Good geometry, good light, obviously you are willing to take risks for your art.
Gale, Rainwater ! Is that a stage name ? ;o)
Very nice indeed and appropriate.
Great Shot. Almost went too far with the HDR but not quite.
I can see the sun kissing the harden ground. Great picture. Remember safety first.
What talent! a great shot. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Hello several comments about this being HDR, No it is not. It is a blend of 2 captures, the cloud color is natural just exposed to bring out the detail. Thanks everyone for the great comments.
Hi Gale,
Your photos are stunning!
this is very beautiful…i luv the shadows and how the sun rays fall down like that..very well done!
Not very familiar with all the photospeak and abbreviations that separate those “in the know” and those of us that aren’t so sophisticated - just people who have a passion for photography - I think this photo is breath-taking, awe inspiring and captures the spirit of the canyons.
The comments serve as a reminder that if you can’t dazzle them with brilliance you can certainly baffle them with BS.
Thanks everyone, also Yin and syal
Very stunning photo!..Looks like the heavens are a shining away!
Thank you Gale for giving God the credit for this glorious picture~
Gale your photo should be picture of the year! Outstanding! Perhaps there is a Bethlehem at the foot of those rays?
Thanks for your shot. Impressive, very striking!!!
In addition to this wonderful photo, your site is most impressive. (Except perhaps for the audio, which blasted my ears).
Question, are your panoramas the result of a special stitching technique, special camera, or simply a narrow crop?
Outstanding. A Masterpiece.
The sunrays through the break in the clouds give a dramatic image
Thanks everyone for all the wonderful comments, I really appreciate it.
Kirk sorry the music blasted you. I plan on changing that. All the panoramas are shot vertical and stitched. I love to shoot them.
Gale I am so proud to be a friend of the Rainwater’S. This picture motivates me to say.
“OUR GOD IS AN AWSOME GOD”. Thank you for taking the time to get down on your knees and holding the tripod to take this awsome picture. I want to come to the store and talk to you about it. Mr. Bill!!
This is an amazing photograph. I myself enjoy taking photos of sunsets and clouds, and this is phenomenal! Great job!
Amazing shot.
Excellent shot! I love the colors and the overall scene. I have been to the southwest of the US last year, but didn’t have the time to go to Canyonlands. Judging from your picture, I really missed out on something beautiful!
Gale, your art needs to be shared with the world.
Is that God?
