This photograph was taken in Cherokee National Forest in North Carolina. I decided to zoom in on a portion of the waterfall because I was intrigued by the converging lines of water.
Equipment: Canon EOS 1dsMII, 70-200mm Lens, Tripod

The title is amazing - when you think about it, there’s really o way to stop water from running and that’s something I’ve always found to be wonderful about nature. To take a comparison, water for nature is like blood for us humans, so if you think about it, nature will always be alive if water is always running.

Anyways, back to the actual picture. The longer exposure time gave a really good rendering of the fact that the water is running and falling. Not only that, but, thanks again to the exposure time, there are tons of water drops visible everywhere, and that gave an impression of constant noise which was really good. Then there also was the shapes drawn by the falling water : you can imagine a cathedral or any high and complex construction you’d like. Finally, the green and white color theme was really good. The rock at the bottom right corner was there to give some reality to this otherwise unreal, dream-like sight (because of the colors and the curves) - which makes it a reachable dream ! This is real good work Tad !

Wow, great separation of tones and contrast in that water! And the moisture in the air really brought out the saturation of the bits and pieces with color. Well done!

  18. Tom Says:

    Lovely lines.
