I have been learning water color painting recently and our latest assignment has been to paint a picture using only two colors. You have achieved this with photography.

For what it’s worth I feel that it is much harder to achieve a good picture by taking a photograph than it is to paint one. After all in painting you don’t have to travel a long way or stand in wet and cold and windy places or bend yourself into awkward shapes, or know anything technical about the performance of your camera, to get a nice shot. If you can imagine it you can draw it.

Photography is a great challenge; it teaches you all you need to know about composition, use of color and patience. It definitely isn’t the poor relation of real art. I won’t be giving it up any time soon.

A very stunning photo. I just got back from 3 and half months in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia and I can only imagine the photographic opportunities in Burma.
