Tiger Shark
by Buck Forester
This is a shot of Odin the white Bengal Tiger at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, about ready to pounce on a chunk of meat. Odin loves the water, and meat.
Equipment: Shot with a Canon 5D and a Canon 70-200mm lens.

Wow, my heart always goes out to animals in zoos, or amusement parks. This is a beautiful tiger.

Great shot a blending of sorts, cool.

Apart from the actual beauty of this animal, I also would like to comment on the photographic side. I like the rays that are coming from ones side and the tiger pouncing its way through from the other side. It gives a sensation of opposing forces.

This is a really powerful shot. The emotional impact is wonderful… Just look at the expression on his face! It is so unusual to see tigers underwater. Its a grerat demonstration of all the strength and power in the muscles of his back. This is a unique shot and one that I prize as a shamanic practitoner. Thanks for sharing it.

Wow, what a fantastic shot; you obviously trust the tiger to go after the meat and not after you.

Wow! I am blown away by this shot – love it! The way the tiger is coming out of the shadow into the light, the focus in its eyes (on the meat) & snarl on its face, and as mentioned above the way the light rays oppose and balance its movement off its left paw. And that itis underwater. Well done!

This is nicely done. Initially, prior to reading your intro, I wondered how one could have caught such a sight, but understanding the locus of the shot does not take away from the raw emotion or rather instincts captured here.

Such a shame this is taken in a zoo. Oh well, just aslong as it entertains the masses.
But nice shot. I love the expression on the tigers face. Congrats.

Great shot Buck! Hopefully soon zoos will be a thing of the past, especially for mighty beasts like this that need vast open spaces.
I posted a similar shot in my blog http://canvas-art-prints-uk.com/blogroll/underwater-tiger-photo/ a while back

He is really serious about that meat. That is quite an expression!

the white tiger is not natural as being found in nature. It is a mutation though a visually beautiful one. Only a handful of them exist in the world and thay are all captive bred, attributing to a weak gene pool.

Is it me or are the pictures getting better and better?
