Symmetry

by Tad Bowman

This photograph was taken at Maroon Lake near Aspen Colorado. This morning the wind was anything but calm. Late morning all the wind stopped revealing the reflection of Maroon Bells in the lake.

When I first saw this I thought it was Lake Louise up by Banff.
A truely beautiful shot. The colours are amazing.
You should be proud of this one.
Congrats

it is indeed similar to Banff park, my image of Marvel Lake here has some resemblance too, but this one has such great colors of snow and trees. Love it!

What a nice shot, its incredible how calm this lake was. Wonderfully executed shot, and the blue in the skies looks so pure.

Excellent!

I think that it looks more interesting without the reflection in the water.

Very neat perspective. Are those rocks at the bottom of the water? How deep is it?

I’ve been to Lake Louise and it does look like that. Nevertheless, the picture is great, especially the sharp peaks cutting out precisely out of the blue sky, and also the richness of the nature on the flanks of the mountains around.

Someone who deals with Photoshop should add an airplane in the sky and its reflection on the water….that should be a boat. Would not be a perfect metaforic shot?

Stunning

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I appreciate it. Tommy, yes those are rocks. It’s pretty shallow at the shore. Unfortunately, I don’t know the depth of the lake closer to the middle.
