This photograph epitomizes winter! Great aesthetic composition! It creates a pleasurable shiver as it conveys the serenity and beauty of the extreme cold!

Tells a great story, about the bitter cold life in a far northern city. As Cheri stated so well, a very serene setting.

This doesn’t really do it for me. I also find it a pity you didn’t write anything about the photo nor the location it was taken. Loads and loads on your flickr account are fantastic though.

A perfect dichotomy, captured brilliantly. The view is deceivingly serene, with the eruption of smoking industry in the foreground. Interesting shot, and well deserving of its status…:)

I have a friend who comes from Siberia, believe it or not he says it is very hot in the summer. This is a really good shot, I like the industrial background.

It is probably as cold as it looks…brrr. A fine mono.

Very graphic image although I feel the color version would have emphasised the snow even more.

Really like the composition here; as much as the lack of colour in it. I think monochrome made this image stand out.
