The presence of this minuscule sun is absolutely amazing - it gives the picture a background interest which balances but also opposes the rock on the foreground. The sky is very good too, especially the large band in the middle that is pink-orange because of the sunset light refracting in the atmosphere and bouncing on the clouds, but the sky’ overall shading that goes from a purple-gray (bottom) to a night-like violet (top) is excellent. It seems everything is running towards that little sun - even the big stone, and all the water of the sea, which, by the way, has a great color because, again, of the sunset light. A very interesting and delicious shot ! I’m sure you stayed on the beach, even after taking the picture, until the sun was completely set and away, since it seems to have been so beautiful !
Very good shot Benjamin, I would say the moment was much darker than this. The colors the charging waves it looks very good and also the colors seem balanced enough and tranquil.
Nice image. The colors in the sky are great and the slow shutterspeed created a very nice effect, though the shutterspeed wasn’t too slow, so we can still recognise a wave in the wave. I think the tilted horizon is a real pity though.
A lower angle and slower shutter speed would have given the shot a more dramatic composition, also some straightening of the horizon, as mentioned above, would also improve it. Apart from my nit-picking, it is a very nice shot.
Beautiful photo well framed and exposed. I like how the receeding water leads toward the setting sun.
Magic! Love the symmetry.
What a lovely capture of a beautiful beginning of a day! Everything does seem to be rushing toward the dot of sun. The capture of the wave is wonderful. I also get a feeling of peace and serenity right before another busy day of the world. Thanks for sharing!
Lovely shot; good depth of field
Congrats on Photo of the Day….it’s a beauty!
Great prospective and with that comes the movement of the waves for me when I look at this beautiful image. Thanks for seeing and shooting this so well!

This is a special vantage point you have here. I enjoy this shot immensely. Colorful and well positioned. Nicely done..:)
Nice shot but the foreground is a bit too loud for me. My eye keeps oscillating between the sun and the rock. I think a darker rock could have worked out better.
Benjamin, you’re a master at seascapes. Love what you’ve done with the 10-20mm! (I’m a fellow Canon user–5D–and appreciate the effort you put into your work.)
bravo!
Congratulations on a beautiful shot!
