Domo arigato gosaimashita for the picture! I spent 2 months in Japan but unfortunately could not make it all the way to Hokkaido. I definitely have to go back!

  5. colin Says:

certainly among the better photos iv seen on here!!

  6. Eli Shams Eli Shams Says:

The reflection is certainly beautiful but too much contrast for me in this one.

  7. Anurag Anurag Says:

Bookending due to the dark clouds and their reflections makes an average landscape scene special.

  8. Pauline Jones Pauline Jones Says:

Are the colors real or did you saturate them?

  9. Reuben Chircop Reuben Chircop Says:

Looks very nice but Its almost surreal.

  10. Lori Harvey Lori Harvey Says:

Beautiful, kind of a “dreamy” quality to it! Nikons and thier users take the best shots! Like you took a pair of brushes and painted the whole thing! Love it! Congratulations on photo of the day!

  11. Chris Reardon Chris Reardon Says:

Wow, really cool. It looks like you put some great planning into this picture. I love how the sky has both the storm clouds and the white clouds. Then the blue separates the two beautifully.

  12. Renee Renee Says:

I like the shot..but to me it looks like alot going on in the photo!

  13. laurens laurens Says:

  14. a. Says:

Oh wow. I love the mountain! This looks like a wonderland of sorts. It reminds me of the word: Supercalafrajelisticespialidocious!

  15. Pieter -sAner- van der Horst Pieter -sAner- van der Horst Says:

Everybody is really enthusiast, so it must be me … I am not that thrilled and I find the dark parts too dark, the light parts too light and I also think the saturation is a little too much. I do like the scene as a whole though.

  16. Yanaar Lee Says:

I too am not pleased with the saturation. It’s a nice photo, but routine, and kind of boring.

  17. Terry Everson Terry Everson Says:

Some people are hard to please but I guess it depends on what you like in a photograph but again it`s a personal thing. To me this is my kind of photograph, just superb.

  18. Billy B Says:

The mountain offers a mix of snow and greenery that I’ve never seen before.

  19. Mark Says:

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I can see some things now in the photo I never noticed before. I did add some saturation, but not that much. It really was stunning that day. I can see that the dark in the bottom corner is distracting as well. The contrast is a little high in the white clouds. I shoot RAW, so I almost always have to edit some. But I guess that means maybe I can go back and re-edit the image and make it better.

  20. Rama Raju Says:

The dark clouds on top and white fog enveloping the mountain make a wonderful picture.

  21. Ellie Ellie Says:

    Hi Mark,
You’re on your way to making more and more good ones like this. You will find that the more you exhibit and show your creativity and images, you’ll find more acolades and more critiques. It’s the natural way of this thing we call art photography. And do not forget art is SUBJECTIVE. What I find stunning someone else may find boring or routine.
And don’t forget that. Keep shooting that Nikon It’s a great shot, keep reading and learning, it’s a great journey.

  22. Chris Burney Chris Burney Says:

Will the E.S. in four years time be as good as this!
