Great shot! How did you get such phenomenal clarity throughout the depth of the shot?

Wonderful. But don’t you think it would have been a much better shot if you had used a GND filter? In that case you might have better mountains!

Just a Fantastic Shot. The subject is very well placed all over :-)

I would have given some more temperature to the colors though.

Thanks for bringing us an image of a place that most of us will never go. As for the color temperature, be careful that the beaks and chests don’t come out too orangey.

This must have been a very spectacular sight also a very smelly one.I love penguins but oh boy they are niffy.En masse like this I would imagine a nose peg would have been welcome.Anyway, it is an amazing sight.Truely amazing. Thank you .

Sian, was this a noisy photo shoot? I can’t imagine the thrill of looking out over such a huge population of penguins. You’ve captured the experience beautifully.

Crazy ! But a sharp shot too. The background is excellent. It is beautiful to see all these penguins on your shot, but was probably even better to see them in reality (and hear them too, what a cacophony it must have been :p ). That tells you how procreative Nature is. And the craziest of all is that the husband always finds his wife even in this crowd of almost all identical penguins – they use their call, which is different for every single penguin (which is why penguins must have an excellent hearing to discern their partner in such a crowd and why it must have been a terrific cacophony out there).

What a sight to behold!!
Technically , you could have used a polarizer to saturate the colors. but full marks for a fantastic photo.
Cheers!

I heard penguins were having trouble due to global warming. Glad to see they seem to be doing OK here.
