by Jason Mac

Sandycove, Dublin. Five second exposure to create misty effect, taken at dawn looking toward Sandycove as the rising sun lit up the sky.

Wow, what an inspiring shot. I should try to get up at dawn more often! I love the misty effect. Great job!

yes I must say that this is a great shot i like that misty effect its just perfect where anything else remains still. its so nice when the rest of the world is still sleeping and you’re there awaiting for the best moment to come.

What a perfect photo, the lighting, exposure, composition, the leading lines of the rocks all combine to make it so.

Nicely composed, with good use of the foreground pebbles, A bit of color saturation would have helped.

If they saw that photo I am sure that they would have filmed Lord of the Rings there.

How beautiful! And the title speaks to the transience of things….of life and its cycles.

Nice interplay of textures with a mysterious looking sunset backdrop to add to the ambiance.

To us it appears as an instant in time.

Now that is just beautiful. Tranquility at its best. Good Job.

Very nice picture, but I think a HDR version of this same photo would have created a better picture. The clouds and the water are perfect in your version, but the rocks are too dark imho. HDR could have solved that.

Thank you all for your comments,

I still look fondly at this image as it was real turning point for me – the early starts and late nights can truly prove worthwhile in your search for an image and of course a bit of luck when all the elements help you. Jason.
