This is extremely good. Technically very accomplished.
I really like the placement of the log parallel to the overall lines of the levee, the location of the foreground vegetation in the corners. Great lighting, perfectly highlighting the trees and the grass, ( that’s God chiping in with His bit). Ideal shutter speed, looks like a medium 15 – 60 to me, blurring the water only slightly yet retaining enough detail in the surface of the water. ( would like your feedback Buck ) Great placement of the Fall. Wonderful colors One can go on and on and on.
Yes Yosemite is the single most beautiful spot on Earth, but full credit to you Buck for capturing it beautifully on film and thank you for sharing it on Earthshots.

Very nice shot. I like how you included that log, gives perspective of a balance to the whole picture. Of course all the colors are unrealistically beautiful and I also like that you captured the moment with the sun shining on the other bank of the river and river itself is in the shade – again feeling of balance, something here and something there :) . Keep up a good work.

I must admit, this is a wonderful photograph! You have caught everything necessary for a complete composition, and my comments are simply nothing new, based upon the above! Kudos to you, and thank you, my friend for letting me have a vision of one of the most beautiful places on Earth!

Mr. Buck Forester:
I remember when Yosemite was natural (without all the traffic), it is my favorite place in the USA. Your picture took me back so many years ago. They had a two way street going into the village and out, that’s gone now and we walked into the big tree’s without a forest ranger as guide. They changed everything because of the hippies that moved in that summer, they had a hard time getting them out of the park, they closed the park for several years after that. I remember so many years ago (1961 to 1971). I loved the way it was, I loved laying on the ground looking up into the big trees, the river was so cold in mid summer, loved camping and enjoyed seeing all the camp fires in the evening and the smell of bacon and coffee early in the morning. My family and I went there every chance we got. Maybe one day I might get to see it again. I’m 75 now and I still remember so many beautiful things about Yosemite Park. Thank you for all your beautiful pictures of it.
