Great shot i like the subject matter the fuzzy background could have used something to make the foreground really pop though i think. Pity it didnt land on a more colorful little flower either. Otherwise excellent shot more detail on the Butterfly around the head would have been better almost looks like someone forgot about the eyes and drew them on with a magic marker.

Very elegant composition with lots of harmonies and echoes. – The similarity of the shape of the butterfly with the leaves, two tenticles of the butterfly, two ?stamens on the flower, three pairs of legs-three leaves, warm butterfly with everything else being cool. My only nit would be the lack of some space next to the right leaf.

Very defined photo and colors. I like the way the butterfly is displayed. the antennae are really crystal clear.

Good capture; every part is in focus and the lighting allows you to see all the details. Not an easy shot.
Terry Everson
Very pleasant and well composed photo.

Beautiful….simply beautiful.

Pretty butterfly. Perhaps a little more bokeh than optimal. It’s hard to even tell where this was taken as the background is a blur of a few colors with little form.

I love your photo, simple but striking! Believe it or not, I taught French in the North York system in the late 60s. In 2001, I retired form teaching in N.J. and have been enjoying taking photos in beautiful Colorado ever since! It’s a great 2nd career.

Spectacular! I love the detail…it’s the first and probably only butterfly face I will ever see. Thank you.

A lot of detail, nice colors and great DOF. Compositionwise I think I would have off-centered the butterfly more.

My kind of picture- you have to grab the shot or he’s gone.

Now I see your softer side! So much for the machismo persona you have been struting all these years!

Nice shot! This is more likely an american lady butterfly than a red admiral!
