It’s Easy Being Green

by Christina Craft

I almost lost the opportunity to photograph this beautiful tree frog when a family came by and the children ran up to grab and touch it. I asked politely if I could have an extra minute photographing this little guy before the children moved in. The parents were a little put out; however, thankfully the kids got bored waiting for me and moved on. I was able to spend a few quiet moments with this still creature and he wasn't disturbed in the process.

I like this shot its well framed the color is fantastic looks like the frog is almost translucent. Focus is well done the Little bugger almost looks as if he’s saying “hurry up and take the piccie i cant hold this pose forever” :-D

Amazing (and rather stark) colors! Love the emotion al sense of it as well.

Cute frog, beautiful picture – serene. The frog looks like it’s meditating!

I really like this shot too. The frog is perfectly placed in the picture and with so much space left, the use of the veining in the leaf to fill it is a credit to a good eye for composition. The colour is also great- the “translucent colour” in the frog as previously mentioned, is not overwhelmed by its surroundings. I think you did this frog a great favour!!

Very nicely executed shot. I like the diagonals formed by the banana leaf, which help break up the negative space. Though everyone seems to appreciate the colors, for me the colors do seem to be a bit washed out and a little bit of color saturation would help. I also feel the highlights are a bit overexposed. but these are very minor issues. A very well composed shot of a great subject, that’s what it is, Period.

Very nice shot. I like it too, the moment here is as if the frog was waiting for it. Without knowing you saved this frog from an unknown future.

I love the composition and the subtle muted tones of this image supports the notion of ease. Wonderful.

This really is my cup of tea. A wonderful shot. I love the composition and the DOF is just about right. I don’t feel the highlights are burnt at all. People should carefully calibrate their monitor before they write stuff like that. ;) Excellent picture!

I love the photo! Your depth of field is perfect, just enough to soften the focus of the leaf but not too much. also the exposure is great, not at all washed out. You captured the iridescent translucency of the lighting perfectly. Overall good composition!

I agree with Pieter, Everyone should caliberate the monitor, AS I have done, with the help of the caliberation tool offered at Pieter’s site.

… and can you please show me the calibration TOOL I supposedly have on my website? All I can remember is including a calibration CHECK. :D Cheers! :D

The lil froggie is PERFECTLY exposed! Excellent shot! So glad too, that the kids didn’t get the chance to harm it.
