I was delighted by seeing such a coloured birds flying over a field full of many kind of flowers, so I waited in a hide for the right moment to take a shot to share.

Beautiful colors and–more importantly, I think–excellent timing. Colors can be provided by nature, but getting the timing right like that takes great patience and skill.

I can but agree with Charles about the timing. This picture gathers two different positions of the same species of bird, and the double subject, one in motion and one still, give lots more life and credibility but also balance to this picture. And the fact that there are only few elements in the picture, excluding the flowers of the background (which, by the way, set a great color and mood tone) , make it even more perfect in its simplicity. Really, great shot.
