As the Sun Sets
by Robert Heverly
The sun setting to to the left and a bit behind threw beautiful colors and light on the river. This was shot from the southern bank looking northwest over the Danube river (die Donau) in Dillingen, Germany.
Equipment: Nikon D50, Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6

The Danube is a beautiful place, almost all along its course. Now this picture is particularly well done. First, its color tone is excellent throughout the image. The nature surrrounding is full of unsual but beautiful colors that match and recall all other parts of the picture. The sky shade from orange to blue is also a magnificent thing that this picture greatly captures. And the river seems to be flowing towards the sun and falling in the end with it … what a gorgeous view.

    Wonderfull :) thanks !

  3. Anurag Says:

A colorful sunset scene with very soothing feel to it. The foreground grass on the lower left corner, however, is a bit untidy and the shot would improve if it is burnt down(darkened) a bit, or a slightly different POV is used.

  4. Frances Says:

I disagree with Anurag - the “untidy” grass is beautiful & adds to the overall quality of this lovely shot. Well done.

  5. Ann Says:

Captured at a magic time of day the mood and mellowness of that special light is beautiful. A very lovely scene. Congrats.
