Watching Over
by Karen Chappell
I went to the park to take photos of the swans and was surprised to see babies. I thought this scene was very sweet with the adult watching over the cygnets.

Such a good mama! Great capture!

Terrific!
I specially like the alignment of the lighter green grass with the line of vision fo the bird, which takes the eye straight to the babies. and also the color of the beak as the only compliment to the otherwise green grass

A beautiful and touching photo. Nice composition and the varying bands of green in the grass are perfect.

Very sweet; swans are amazing, they live for two hundred years.

Well composed photo. Must have been a great surprise to find the chicks there. It`s good how the beak leads you down to the chicks.

Sweet it is, and very well composed!

Beautiful photo…thank you. Love this website! Just got to say…swans only live for about 20 to 30 years…not 200, unless Pauline knows something i don’t know?

I really like the story this picture tells and the shades of green are beautiful. Composition is great. The back of the big Swan’s wings look a wee bit oe to me.
