Tarkine Sunset
by Mick Walters
This area has amazing aborigional history and rather sad. I also found ants nesting in my camera bag as I was setting up for this shot, eggs and all!
Equipment: Nikon D200

This is a very nice sunset photo. The red and orange colors are great. I think I would have prefered a landscape-style photo instead of a portrait one. But the composition is nice this way too. The dark parts seem a little too dark on my monitor. A tricky exposure as someone else already wrote. Well done!

The movement of the water vs the stability of the shrubbery is wonderful. I love the shadows on the sand as well. Simply breathtaking!

Tassie!!! Well, I’m assuming nowhere else is this beautiful and called the Tarkine in the world? It indeed does have a sad history, and is curently still makeing some sad history. My birthday, so even more special shot for me as Tassie is my old backyard!

Perfection on Earth and film. I agree with your choice of a portrait photo instead of my usually prefered landscape orientation. You’ve got almost a rainbow palette of colours… “absolut” composition and exposition, kudos!

  22. Mick Walters Says:

Thankyou everyone for the great comments, i really appreciate it. Also this worked much better thana landscape style shot. I tried it but it just wasnt’ as effective as this one. You can check the landscape one out on my flickr site. Cheers
