Snowy Lava Flow

by Aaron McDonald

Mt. St. Helens, WA. At this time the lava dome was growing at the rate equivalent to one dumptruck load every ten seconds. The awesome power of nature at work.

A very interesting shot adeptly capturing nature at work. It looks so very cold/bleak and wild out there. You have a good photo here. Congrats.

This is a very beautiful picture. A good one to end the year with. My only nit: the blue haze is a bit too much for me.

Growing? Is it about to pop again then? Magnificent photograph from what could turn out to be a precarious position.

Picture was taken early spring of 2007 while in a cessna 172. We circled about three times at a distance of about 3/4 mile. It was amazing.
