Mystic River
by Dean Zulich
One of my all time favorite captures of Skykomish River, near Troublesome Creek Campgorund in MT Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Washington.

Quite beautiful. I like the gray mist over the river, contrasted by the stark color in the wildflowers. The cool green rocks in the water are gorgeous. The fallen tree on the left looks out of place at first, but then it gives it a more realistic feel, instead of having everything so perfect all the time.
Fantastic photo!

Really a nice mystical feel created by the mist. The right foreground however is a bit busy though

It would be pretty amazing to camp right next to this.

I like the mystical atmosphere of the scene, but the colors are a little bit too dull for my liking. I do understand it’s precisely the haze that you wanted to capture that causes this dullness. Composition is excellent!

I like the composition, and I’m glad you featured the wild flowers in the foreground. I also like that the colors weren’t tarted up in Photoshop. A lot of images on this site are too obviously manipulated.
I enjoy all your images, Dean. You make me want to head up to Washington.

I soooo agree with H. Bowers. We spent the month of May/07 traveling around the state of WA. I was enchanted with this area as well as the penninsula and took many photos that we love to revisit. Very nice photo.

I can think of places close to where I live that look like this; which is amazing because I am half a world away.

Very enchanting river landscape with beautiful foreground. A small portion of cropping below will strengthen the whole image.

Quite an interesting area: so far north and all those flowers on the 15th of December? (!) Mist does wonders for photos and hikers alike, no matter the season.

This is the reason we even have National Parks!
God is truly amazing. Awesome shot!

I love this shot, misty and romantic and the fore ground flowers to me show that it hasnt been trampled on by too many tourists.
