Lemon Shark
by Thomas Vignaud
This lemon shark was roaming, feeling fresh dead fish underwater...
There are only a few lemon sharks in Moorea, French Polynesia, and this is one of the biggest. The photo was nice to take, as the shark is smiling at me.
Equipment: Canon EOS 400D

I hate to tell you, Thomas, but that doesn’t look like a smile to me. Safety first. Awesome shot!

were you wearing some kind of steel suit?
I don’t want anything to do with a shark smiling at me!! To me It looks like its pretty pleased at the prospect of the delicious snack in front of it.

Thanks everybody
No cage, no suit.
Sharks are little dogs, I’m a shark scientist and I really really can say they are not dangerous if you respect them as they should be. they are probably the more important animals for us in this world, and we have to protect them. They were here before dinosaur, and as the world’s top predator they puted a big pressure of evolution of all others creatures. so speed, camouflage, life on ground, and so others many important things appear.
Sharks are architect of our world, they are a part of god to me, and they are not dangerous at all. I take sharks in my hands every weeks, and I was never bite.

This is a GREAT SHOT! Impressive, engaging, a bit scarey, yet really beautiful. The shark is beautiful, and yes, I agree with “Eli Shams”, who thinks he’s smiling at his next MEAL, not you, ahahahaha..:)
