Birds Ascending

by Jim Cox

I have poorly insulated windows and when the temperature drops to minus 25 degrees for a few days heavy frost will form on the windows.

I grew up in a house with similar insulation and have fond memories of looking at the amazing patterns in the frost that covered most of the window early in the morning. Thanks Jim, for reminding me of that time.

This picture brings back memories; one of the few drawbacks of double glazing is that you don’t see these patterns anymore.

Frigging Fantastic! Don’t have the right words to say how much pleasure this picture gives me. We are living in a deep freeze right now here in Canada and you just made me not feel so bad about it! Thank you

You have captured an eloquent milli-section of our beautiful Earth’s process. Nicely presented. I applaud your vision. Even the mundane holds true beauty, as in a frigid windowpane…:)
