Salamander Silhouette
by Scott Hotaling
While hiking along a small stream in the Great Smoky Mountains, I noticed this small salamander enjoying some sun on a leaf next to the water. It was cold laying in the stream to look up and capture this image, but I believe the result was worth the effort.
Equipment: Canon 30D and Canon 100mm Macro Lens

Wild light and beautiful wilderness, I hope you enjoy my images. I go to great lengths to capture nature at her most beautiful moments.

Truly worth it, even more then the lizard, I like the texture of te leaf. The translucency of the lizard’s feet is also great.

very good shot indeed. I like contrast very much its the green and just the black shape covering the light.
