Rain Jewels

by Scott Hotaling

During an early summer morning hike amid scattered rainstorms throughout the park I stumbled upon this beautiful scene. Between the soft light and the perfect drops, the title seemed obvious.
Equipment: Canon 30D with Canon 100mm Macro + 20mm Kenko Ext. Tube, Tripod-mounted

Wild light and beautiful wilderness, I hope you enjoy my images. I go to great lengths to capture nature at her most beautiful moments.

A treat to watch. they really look like diamonds.
Framing is good but I feel you have gone too far in placing the center of the flower in the extreme upper right. What might be the reason? were the Petals/leaves on the other side devoid of dew drops?

Everyone had pictures of dew drops, but not everyone has good pictures of dew drops. Well done. Next time try a really close macro shot of just one dew drop so that you can see the magnified ribs in the leaf underneath.

Wow it really shows how thirsty mother earth is. Great shot the symmetries of the leaf and the droplets are just great. Very clear shot and the clarity is good. I like the choice of deviation from getting a central shot I would have done the same.
