That is a great shot and great hardware too. I am a canon user too and it truly enables one to see the world from a different perspective. Nice colors and great instance.

One of my photography ambitions is to spend a few weeks in Yellowstone and surrounding areas – this shot just make me want to do it even more.. fantastic.. Officially Jealous!

Thanks for all the comments. The hole in the foreground is a hot spring where the water does not have enough pressure to erupt like a geyser. The colours on the ground are caused by bacterial growths.

I, too, am officially jealous and impressed. While it is truly difficult to imagine going wrong in Yellowstone, a supurb vantage was utilized in capturing the dichotomy of life evidenced by the geyser with the pool of pristine water just beneath. I love this shot.
