Griffon Portrait
by Luigi Piccirillo
After a heavy lunch, it is quite difficult for griffon vultures to take off, so it's easy to shorten the normal escaping distance and take shots from a very close range.
Equipment: D200; Sigma 100-300/f4.

Great shot. The backlighting and the softness of the reflected light really gives the shot a studio feel. and the beak looks as though its made of Brass!!!

I am delighted. My goodness its just a good shot and the details are just perfect. the subject is in place and the framing by the wings and the blurred background are very good.
