Fungi Family
by Francis
As idyllic as it may seem, this photo was actually taken right in my back yard just a hop and skip away from the compost pile.

Beauty lies everywhere!
Light coming from front-sideways causing the slight silhouette and the brim light is giving a nice effect. Exposure is spot on, preserving some detail in the shadows while not blowing up the highlights.

It looks like a fairy tale scene.

DOF is a little bit too shallow for my liking and I think you underexposed the scene a wee bit.

subjects are everywhere its just we that ignore them . so when something like this pops up its just the awareness of what is around us. Great ground shot I would have given it some more light but I like the way you chose just one mushroom to be in focus.

You have a good eye for what could make a good photo, all the elements contribute to a good photo.
