Sunset Bend
by Scott Hotaling
I re-visited this highly photographed location many times over several days in all forms of light. Once I discovered my desired composition, I just had to wait on good light... a clearing storm at sunset provided just that.
Equipment: Canon 30D, Sigma 17-70, 3-stop Grad. ND

Wild light and beautiful wilderness, I hope you enjoy my images. I'm a student of another focus for now, but hopefully that will change.

Gorgeous, gorgeous shot!

Fantastic Image and great location. I just like to say that the GradND has caused the upper ends of the cliffs to become dark, use of a split neutral density filter could have been an option.
Beautiful Image neverthless.

I love the red in the sunset. It was worth your patience.

where were you Scott to take such a photo? in a helicopter or something??!! I wonder what would be in the waters, any sea live??? It reminds me of a water park, where you ride a rubber boat which goes swifting around corners… But i guess this one would be a scary ride.. Great job

I have been there myself and I know how spectaculair the scene is. Your picture is really something different. For starters you focused on only a part of the whole horseshoe and then you waited for superb light and clouds in the bg. Wonderful.
