This image of Sol Duc Falls was captured around mid-afternoon on a stormy day in early Summer. The lighting was magical to say the least.

Equipment: Canon 30D, Sigma 17-70, 2-stop Soft Grad. ND

The rays in the top left hand and the watermin the bottom right hand make a well balanced composition.

Scott, I love this photo. I just returned from Oregon, where I shot Multnomah Falls and tried to do this sort of thing!
On the Oregon coast it was foggy almost every day, which made for wonderful photo ops. I’ll send one in when I’ve done the cropping etc. Catherine

Very well done. The lighting is not only beautiful but difficult to shoot. It is interesting that the suns rays are so warm and the falls so cold (colors).
