Thinking Bull
by Gavin
Bull African elephant pondering what we (in an open top landrover) were as we had just come over a brow of a hill. Instead of a hand rubbing his chin, he used his trunk.
Equipment: Nikon D2X with 28mm lens

I often wonder what goes on in the minds of animals; elephants are particularly intelligent, up there with the apes. Its nice to think that you have seen some of the personality of this guy.

WOW GAVIN.
What a fantastic shot – Camera wise that is.
My wife and I visited Kenya a few years ago, apart from the Cheetah the African Elephant is my favourite land animal.
Go to Kenya and see the RED ELEPHANTS?
NO I am not going ga ga there really are red elephants?
It has to do with where they live?
I am saying no more at this point.

The shot was taken in Madikwe game park in South Africa. He’s actually in deep thought as I think we suprised him. MInd you he was graceful throughout the encounter.
