Whoa! This is definitely one of my most favorite images! I too wanted to ask if it was real...then I read Holly's account of it really being real...It is so otherworldly...like something you would have seen in LOTR trilogy..like that..
It is a fascinating scene, so wonderfully composed through your lens. The forest with the foggy mist and the ribbon of waterfall, and the lone gull or duck... a truly amazing scene!
It hints at Global warming...it is certainly one of the most intriguing scenes I've ever seen.
Thank you so much for sharing...

The shot looks so unearthly yet we actually found Holly B who happens to be a resident there. The earth is really a small place to live in. Anyway I just love the shot.

I would sure love to have taken this photo... WOW - How come I never come across anything like this? Just one question, how close were you when you took this? Were you in the water?

This is a fantastic shot...and located just down the street from my house in Juneau. We are actually located on Douglas Island and this beach is lovingly know to locals as Sandy Beach. My dog and I walk by this structure almost daily! This was the original site of the Treadwell Mine, and at one time was the biggest town site in Alaska. As you can see only mere ruins are left. Beach combing you can find large pieces of plates from the company kitchen. This is a very magical place, well done for capturing it so beautifully!! Obviously Dagny is from Juneau!
