Mountain Morning Pose

On a recent June photo trip to Colorado was hoping to capture some mountain goat images. After several days of shooting in freezing temperatures and strong winds on top of Mount Evans (14,200 feet) it was certainly worth the effort. The goats appeared and the Nannies (adult female) brought the kids (newborn) up from the nursery cliffs on our last morning. When I was in Canada and Alaska I have seen quite a lot of these lovely animals. Sometimes they were walking alongside the road! I like the pose of the goat and the background, but I think you underexposed the goat at least one stop. The coat of the goat is too greyish in your picture; it should be white. I also think the lack of a (visible) catchlight in the eye of the goat is a shame. Lastly I think I would have off-centered the subject more. He’s looking to the right, so why not place him a little more to the left to give him some more space to look at?
