This is a beautiful evening shot – I didn’t realize Greece had so much uncultivated land. Thanks for sharing it with us!

The castle on the hilltop really lends scale to the grandeur of nature

Multumesc! E foarte frumos – am auzit de Meteora si ati facut o poza plina de minune.
It’s a great photo – I’ve heard of this site and the photo captures so much more than just the monastery itself.
Thanks.

I am from Greece. This place, “Meteora” is a system of mountains in Thessaly champaign. Thessaly was a great lake at prehistoric ages. When the mountains Olympus and Ossa rended apart because of a great earthquake, all the water spilled to the Aegean sea and left these rocks in the middle of the champaign.
Word “meteora” means something that swings from the sky (meteor).
On these great rocks monks built monasteries. There are several monasteries on the top of Meteora, some with nuns and some with monks.
It is a interesting place to visit.

Most interesting shot, like Greece a lot and although we explored never ventured too far inland. I will have to go back.
