Dark Sky
by Goncalo Lemos
A truly dark sky is something rather difficult to find. Under a new moon, the light pollution from cities around the world spreads across the whole sky making it obvious that the waste of energy could be avoided. If we try to solve this problem, then we will have a better environment, less waste and a beautiful dark sky to show our children.

Born in '68, started to shoot when i was 14 with my dad's camera. Recently i entered the digital era and started to shoot with one of my favorite techniques: long exposure! Hope you enjoy my work.

A classic Shot which I bet, every photographer worth his salt shoots at least once in his/her lifetime.
I agree most emphatically as does Pauline, with Your views on mankind’s “Indulgence”!

When we used to look out our bay window to the San Francisco sky line we would see the most brilliant colors. We would wow and ahhh. And my very wise mother would say It’s pretty but its pollution. We were surprised. But she was right. That was in 1958′, she was way ahead of her time. She was recycling in the fourty’s and the fifties.

Amazing! I love how you used the time-exposure! The colour of the sky is superb as well! Great work, Goncalo! I really appreciate your note on energy wasting. I completely agree!

A beautiful shot and | agree about the light pollution when my son visits from the city he just sits in the garden and stares at the night sky for ages.
