Leopard Kill
by SBL
It was the loud alarm calls of the Baboon troupe that alerted us to the presence of this Leopard. The subdued light of the early morning gave me the opportunity to use a slow shutter speed to blur the motion of this Leopard as it dragged its Baboon kill through the dense bush.

This is a great and dynamic shot. I bet you used a 400 or 500mm lens, right? Either that or you were very closed as you used a camera with full frame sensor.

Shutter is perhaps a stop or a half too slow

Great capture of a difficult subject. I love the panning action you used which conveys the speed of the leopard.

I like the shutter speed idea on this leopard. The leopard nearly fades into the african bushveld.
Do you have more pictures from this action scene?

The shutter speed creates a feeling of great speed even though he is only dragging the animal. It works well – I like the effect.

The legs are blurred but the face and body are not. This gives the picture great impact.

Absolutly amazing. It is a beautiful photo. I love photos of animals and art. Which I guess you cant do art here. To bad.

Few photos pull me into the action like this one. Great job!

due to the very slow shutter, even the prey and the head of the leapord are blurred. If the shutter speed were a stop or half faster the motion blur would appear only in the legs and the background, The head and the baboon would would be sharper giving the image a greater impact.
