Landing Bee

by Alessandro Zocchi

This flower of thistle was 2 meter tall and attracting exclusively bees. They approached the tip of the flower hovering for a few seconds before landing, allowing me to take pictures on the wing.

This photo is simply stunning. It reminds me of a wonderful natural history movie called Microcosmos which features, among other amazing things, bees in flight. If you love nature, check out this movie.

Again, thank you for sharing your work Alessandro.

I agree…take a trip to this photographer’s website. Allow plenty of time because once you see his macrophotography, you’ll have a hard time pulling away. This is one example of his eye for detail.
Nice work, Alessandro!
