Elderly Women
by Roland Lacson
Spotted these women sitting on a roadside souvenir store dressed in their native attire. I didn't seek the usual look & smile shot, instead I was after an unguarded moment of just being themselves. I improvised by moving my head away from the viewfinder & as soon as I did two of them dropped their guard except for one. She never took her eyes off me but the resulting image makes it appear she's in her own little world. Image captured in Banaue.

What a fascinating peek into everyday life in Banaue. Their native attire is certainly colorful! Nice work, Roland. (By the way, I think the best portraits are of those “unguarded moments”.)
