Ant
by Mark Wucher
I was taking pictures of flowers to put into a book for my mother. I had my camera on a mini tripod with the timer set to 2 seconds. I depressed the shutter release button. Just when the shutter opened this ant climbed to the top of the flower and posed for an instant. I didn't even see on the camera's screen because of the glare from the sun. I noticed it later on my computer at home. It was really exciting.
Equipment: Canon A610

I cook for a living. Photography has been a hobby of mine for several years. I think when you take photos of the world around you you will notice more of the details.

Mark, your approach to photography closely matches mine–I believe the world is full of unseen details, and photography helps magnify sights that might otherwise be passed by. Everyone is in such a rush these days – it’s a beautiful thing to slow down and take notice of God’s handiwork.
This ant photo is great! Don’t you love it when those type of surprises show up on screen? I bet your mom loved her book of flowers, too.
