Heli Bucket
by Charlene Burge
A blast from the past--my days as a wildland firefighter. I believe this was shot in Eastern Oregon, but it might've been Idaho.
Sort of like putting out a housefire with a water glass....helicopter water drops can be vastly more effective but on this day the water wasn't reaching the ground. :-O Even a flotilla of helicopters probably would not have had much effect. As it were, there were just two and they didn't last long, because as fire starts making it's own weather, flying becomes too hazardous.

That must take real courage. Though I wonder how much of an impact the water would make, as you have avered.

The water seems so small compared to the smoke.
