Just when you thought it was safe to go into the garden …
Wonderful shot!
I have a great fear of spiders but am able to admire their beauty (from a distance!). This photo captures the spider at an amazing angle, showing a lovely creature in what it feels to be a safe environment. It’s going straight onto my desktop!!
Hi Bill,
It’s a classic shot. I am delighted to see another Christian who shoots the God’s creation. I am a missionary in India. My Blog is “God’s Chitra” means God’s picture. In south Indian language Chitra means Picture or art. take a look at my Blogspot. www .godschitra.blogspot.com
Thank you and God bless you.

Great photo. Do you now which spider this one is?
Greatings,
Frans
In these parts we refer to these guys as common garden spiders. I’m sure there’s an Arachnology expert somewhere out there who can provide a specific classification.
That’s a super shot. I love the color on the spider. At least it wasn’t a “Spider that Bit(e) Her”!
You don’t see this spider just any where. I grew up in East Texas and loved to see the large web this “garden spider” would build. I love the beautiful contrast of it’s colors. Thanks for sharing.
It almost looks as though she is caught in the web! Great shot, I love the colour and composition, Woman and Nature side by side. Well done!
A very unique photo! Thanks for your Christian perspective. I am a pastor’s wife at a small, but growing church, too!
May God abundantly bless your ministry!
AMAZING photograph! My daughter asked if she was Charlotte (Charlotte’s web). Love it!!
Thank you for all your comments. Very encouraging!
Nice juxtaposition to personalise the shot.
Don’t miss the skull like marking on the Back of the spider.
I always see these spiders here in Texas.. they call these spiders down here banana spiders now tell me if i wrong ? Thats just what i always hear..
Very nice composition & perspective. Colors are great too.
Down here in Texas?!! I have seen these dozens of time when I was working in the “garden”. Once upon a time, I worked on a farm, and these things used to worry the beejeebers out of me. When they are agitated, they sit in the center of their web and make it bounce up and down. Absolutely great shot (from the safety of my screensaver)!!
And, yes, in down here in Texas, we call them Bananna Spiders!
So beautiful!
Creepy but very clever shot.
still like this shot! well done!
Wow. He is kind of big. Don’t see those here in New York.
It’s lovely. Love the personal touch and smart juxtaposition.
