Blizzard Swans

by Matt

A blizzard moved in on the edge of Lake Ontario. I happened to get caught in it so I got in my Jeep. I could see some white objects on the edge of the lake so I checked it out. It turned out to be Mute Swans that were also caught in the blizzard. The temperature was -14 deg F.

Poor swans!
Good thing you pack your camera around. This is one of those spur-of-the-moment opportunities that usually turn up something wonderful. Thanks for sharing it.

I didn’t know swan could be found at such low temperature. The fog gives a pleasant dreamy effect. Glad you survived :) )

Very unusual sight. Nicely captured.

Wow, that looks cold! This is really good, though I would have liked to see the main swan a little less centered, but more to the left. Composition would have been better then.

What a great moment! A great shot! Glad you had the jeep to go in. Poor things must be so cold.

A very cold scene. Cold for any animal to stay out in.
