Sand Pattern
by Dean Polley
Dubai is better known for its extra ordinary real estate developments - man made “beauty”. This picture is a testament to nature’s beauty. These sand flow patterns were “created” by walking on the crest of a sand dune.
Equipment: Canon EOS 1D MkII N, EF28-135mm
Dean Polley
I am a photographic artist who focuses on images of nature and wildlife. Born in South Africa, I was exposed to the natural world and African wildlife from an early age and have spent countless hours in the bush in pursuit of images of animals in their natural environment. My travels have taken me through a variety of game reserves and national parks throughout southern and east Africa.
Currently residing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, my most recent work reflects the natural world of the Arabian Peninsula.
I pride myself in taking pictures of wild animals in their natural environments. Animals are born free and need to remain that way.

This looks almost like food, pastry, or maybe lava. Such harsh climate shown as so delicate and refined… you’re an alchemist, Dean !-]

  19. Anurag Says:

What an exquisite image!! You have such a wonderful eye. What a transition from delicate ribs of sand to the obtuse footmarks. once in a while comes an image that just takes your breath away! Very well done Dean.

PS: Would also like to see a Black & White version

  20. Ann Says:

A work of art, very much to my particular taste in art. This is one I could hang on my wall and every day take joy from its beauty. T he texture and colour plus the creative concept of the foot prints I find really appealing.
