Northwest Winter

The Pacific Northwest has been struck with some severe weather recently; most of my favorite trails are inaccessible, and the remaining of big floods are visible everywhere. I captured this image along Mountain Loop Highway, in always beautiful Mt. Baker - Snoqualmie National Forest.

Fabulous contrasts! On top of the bright sunlight and the feel of a dark forest, you’ve captured both the essence of winter and summer with those damp-looking mosses and ferns.

I Particularly like the wide variety of colors in the photograph. However, the branches with the moss, show some posterisation which leads me to believe that It must have been pulled up a lot in Photoshop which is perfectly OK with me. It is after all the darkroom of today.
