Lonely (in green)

Tiny cobweb fibres like tentstrings support a single (lonely) mushroom growing on a wooden moss covered fence. The green moss and the green out of focus backdrop add a feeling of lushness. The colour green helps unite the elements of this composition.

I take photos whenever I get the chance – which is not as often as I like because of lack of time. I work for a NGO / charity and live with my partner and youngest son.

Im sorry but this just makes me want to say Awww!
The brilliance of the green in the foreground and background i think act as a sort of canvas and the mushroom is the wok of art.
Its a really different shot, but i love it!!

This shot is great. I wonder what a macro shot would have looked like? Perhaps it would have flooded the background with a neon green? Great shot!

only to add to the above two comments – overall the mushroom is very small relative to the grass patches of the foreground and is getting overpowered. IMHO brightening up only the mushroom would have helped restore balance.
A wonderful shot, neverthless.

Nice phpto I have thing for mushrooms they kind of freak me out, especially the odd looking ones, but I still can’t stop looking at them! lol Very nice pic though

Great sensitivity, use of colour and composition.

The background suggests to me a later stage in the life of the subject.
