That is a male Cardinal, state bird of Illinois. Fantastic shot!

great contrast b/w the red/black of the bird and the white of the snow. the highlight of the flash in the eye is a nice touch.

Exposure is spot on. Great red colors on the bird. I do think the bird should have been placed a little more to the right to give it some breathing space. Anyway, nice shot!
