Rainier Fall

by Dean Zulich

The image shows Mount Rainier photographed at the Reflection Lakes. It took me four trips to finally come up with a capture that reveals both the mountain and the reflection, and this is what it looked like.
Equipment: Canon EOS 5D, Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 L lens

I was there {In Seattle }visiting with my family, from PA & Cambridge.Mass. My daughter lives in Woodinville.
We all got some very good shots of Ranier and also Mt St Helens—but none quite like yours!! Great work.

Fantastic shot! So rich in colours, with perfect reflection and composition. I feel I could go there and sit near the lake forever!

Thanks Doug – this is an HDR by photomatix, I think 5 or 6 exposures, plus some dodging and burning afterwards,

Exceptionally clean. I guess another benefit of HDR is that the combination of multiple exposures also reduces the noise. all in all a great Image
