Chimpanzee

This is the alpha male chimpanzee of a group of around 40 animals in the Mahale Mountains on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. This photo was taken on the fourth day of trekking in the jungly mountain slopes. The photo won the 15-17 year old age category in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition in 2005.
